2019 Reunion – 50 years since the end of Year 12!
A group of 30 ex-students and staff from our years at Watson High (1965-1969) gathered at Yowani Country Club to celebrate the passing of half a century since many of us finished school (and even longer for those who left earlier!)
Staff who attended included Peter Scott (Science) with his wife Wendy, and Anne Somes (PE) from the founding staff of 1965. Sadly, Louise Blue, who has attended many of our gatherings, passed away this year. We were glad to see Lyn Gorrie and Betty Growder (Maths) joining us again. Alan Murray was unable to attend at the last minute.
Friends from our year came from far and near – Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales and many who still live locally. The evening was filled with animated conversations and happy laughter, and the mandatory group photo, ably managed by our own award-winning photographer.
The following morning a group of us gathered (some with partners) for brunch, more conversation and fond farewells. The years seem to be going by rather quickly and hopefully it won’t be the last time we gather, reminisce and renew old friendships.

It looks like a good time was had by all. Sorry I was unable to attend this time, but look forward to the next gathering,

I am very sorry that I didn’t make it this year. 50 Years!
What a great night.
Thank you Kathy and team for keeping us in touch.

Great to catch up with old friends and colleagues.
Isn’t it great that we still manage to keep in touch and have a few laughs about our school days which seem a lifetime ago.
Oh they were…50 years ago! where did all that time go?

I’m really disappointed I didn’t make this reunion but it was great to enjoy it via the photos. Thank you for putting them up; and for organising it in the first place. Hopefully there will be future opportunities to catch up, whether in Canberra or Queensland or somewhere in between.
